How Does BugBooster Work?

Many new wastewater treatment plants do not have primary treatment. This means the aeration basin catches everything including hard to digest fats, surfactants, paper products and complex chemistries sent by an industry.

In other words, all the insoluble BOD goes into the digestor or sludge storage tank. The catalysts in BugBooster convert insoluble BOD over to soluble BOD so the bugs can chew it up. This process provides much less sludge to be produced. BugBooster takes science and puts it to work for you.

Why do I want to use BugBooster?

Because it will save you money. If you would like to haul less sludge or thicker sludge, this is a great technology.

It works in aerobic digestors and in sludge storage tanks too.

Technical Background

Bug-Booster is able to work in both aerobic and anaerobic conditions since it contains micronutrients that allow the bacteria currently in the system to quickly build proteins to digest waste material and also contains enzymes that will begin the breakdown of the harder to digest materials commonly found in waste, thus providing easy to use substrates for bacteria.

Bug-Booster contains enzymes and proteins numbering in the billions per gallon in a specially formulated proprietary blend.
